Freddie’s Wish to be represented at the Queen’s Baton Relay

It is not long now until the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games open on the 28th July and the excitement is definitely building.

Since 7th October 2021, the Queen’s Baton has been travelling the globe visiting every corner of the Commonwealth during its marathon 294 day journey.

It is now in England in its final stages, travelling the length and breadth of the country, visiting more than 180 communities and covering more than 2500 miles.

On Thursday 21st July, it will be visiting Rugby, Warwickshire and we are delighted to announce that our Founder, Charlotte, has been chosen to carry the baton through Caldecott Park.

Charlotte was chosen in recognition for her fundraising efforts and the ongoing provision of bereavement support and paediatric first aid training to the community.

She said “I am honoured to be asked to take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity. It is so lovely that the hard work that we have done in Freddie’s name since establishing Freddie’s Wish, has been recognised. I’m hoping that we get plenty of people in Caldecott Park on the day to cheer us on and to enjoy the Celebration Event that is being held in the park that afternoon.”
