Freddie’s Wish is a registered charity with love at its heart, wanting to help those who have lost a child of any age, offering support and care when it’s needed the most. My son, Freddie, was sadly taken from us in a tragic car accident in December 2014 at the age of just 13 months. Not long after I said my last goodbyes, I desperately searched for help from people that understood the intense emotional and physical pain I was feeling, but no one seemed to be willing or able to help me.
This is why we set up Freddie’s Wish.
We’re here to help anyone who has been given these horrible shoes to walk in, supporting them in the immediate aftermath of loss, and in the longer term too. Our aim is to help these parents find a new lease of life whilst also embracing the memory of their precious child.
If you or someone you know needs help, please get in touch.

Freddie’s Wish was formed in early 2015 and is a registered charity (number 1202601).
Since those early days, our aims and objectives have remained the same. These are:

Preservation and protection of good health among parents and families experiencing child bereavement.

To advance the saving of lives by educating the public about paediatric first aid and in turn enabling parents with the skills to potentially save their child’s life.

To advance the education of Healthcare professionals in relation to child bereavement and to offer support to bereaved families.
2025 marks 10 years of Freddie’s Wish and we couldn’t be prouder of what the charity has achieved since then.
The money raised so far has enabled us to help many bereaved parents and to support other important charities in our area with vital donations.
But we’re only just getting started!
It’s important we keep on growing and fundraising to help more parents who desperately need support.
Maybe you’d like to help us?

We’re proud to offer a specialist bereavement counselling service delivered by a team of BACP registered counsellors, which is provided for free to parents who have lost a baby or child from the moment of conception with no upper age limit. We can provide both short term immediate support and a more comprehensive counselling programme in the longer term.

Sadly, Freddie ultimately lost his brave battle, but the CPR administered at the scene of the accident gave us all time to say goodbye to him. We’ve partnered with Mini First Aid to provide funded paediatric first aid courses for parents and carers, giving them the knowledge and skills to potentially save their child’s life in an emergency situation.
