At Freddie’s Wish, we’re passionate about making bereavement support and counselling accessible to all and offer two specialist services delivered by BACP registered counsellors.
We support parents who have lost a child of any age from conception through to adulthood. Whether you’ve experienced a miscarriage or stillbirth, neonatal loss, or the death of an infant, child, teen or young adult, we’re here to help you.
We’ll never forget how difficult it was to navigate the rollercoaster of emotions that follow the death of a child, so we know first-hand that offering the right kind of support at the right time can make a massive difference.
Our bereavement support services have grown over the last 10 years from a small local service to a national online service that now helps parents across 25 counties.
We are proud to offer a fully funded virtual bereavement support service. Helen (our lead counsellor) and her wonderful team of BACP registered bereavement counsellors are experienced in supporting parents who have suffered the trauma of losing a child.
The support we are offering is free for any parent or carer who has lost a baby or child at any age and we are happy to deliver support to you alone or as a couple if that feels more appropriate.

There are no waiting lists for assessments, these are done as soon as possible, so that you can be matched to a counsellor with expertise in your area of need. We do operate a waiting list for sessions, so there may be a short wait between assessment and your first session. Our goal though, is to provide support as soon as possible.
Providing initial guidance and support on navigating the emotions of early grief.
Through our own personal experience, we know that the first two years after the death of a child is a time of raw grief. Emotions are overwhelming and the natural grieving process needs to take place.
This early stage support is designed to help you know what is ‘normal’ during this time and to give you the tools to navigate these emotions.
